Magnesium oxide (MgO) is an oxide of magnesium, an ionic compound. It is a white solid at room temperature. Magnesium oxide exists in the form of periclase in nature and is a raw material for magnesium smelting.

Magnesium oxide is a basic oxide and has the property of a basic oxide and belongs to a cementitious material. White or light yellow powder, odorless, odorless, non-toxic.

Classification
There are two types of light magnesium oxide and heavy magnesium oxide. Lightweight and bulky, it is a white amorphous powder. Odorless, tasteless and non-toxic. Hard to dissolve in pure water and organic solvents, converted to crystals by high temperature burning. In the case of carbon dioxide in the air, magnesium carbonate is formed as a white or beige powder. It is easy to combine with water, and it is easy to absorb water and carbon dioxide in the exposed air. It is easy to gel and harden when mixed with magnesium chloride solution.

Product use
1. As a raw material for producing magnesium sulfate, magnesium hydroxide, etc. in the chemical industry;

2. It is the main raw material for the production of glass magnesium materials. It can be gelled to a hardened body with certain physical and mechanical properties when it is combined with magnesium chloride or magnesium sulfate aqueous solution. It is called magnesium cement. Magnesium cement has the advantages of light weight, high strength, fire and heat insulation, energy saving and environmental protection, and can be widely used in building materials, municipal engineering, agriculture, machinery and other fields;

3. It is a raw material and an auxiliary material for preparing fine materials and electronic components;

4. It can be used as a filler for paints, papers and cosmetics, as a filling and reinforcing agent in the production of plastics and rubber;

5. Smelting industry, used for the production of refractory materials, metallurgical materials, etc.;

6. In the ceramic industry to reduce the sintering temperature;

7. Fertilizers and livestock feeds used in agricultural production can prevent the nervous system from being deregulated due to magnesium deficiency.
